PM Modi Aims to Make Maharashtra Global Economic Powerhouse

Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions transforming Maharashtra into an economic powerhouse and Mumbai into the fintech capital of the world. Addressing a gathering in Mumbai, he highlighted major projects, the need for youth skill development, and criticized opposition narratives on unemployment, emphasizing 8 crore new jobs created recently.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to leverage Maharashtra's historic strengths in agriculture, industry, and finance to transform it into a global economic powerhouse. Speaking on Saturday, Modi expressed his vision to make Mumbai the fintech capital of the world.

At a high-profile event where he laid the foundation and dedicated projects worth over Rs 29,400 crore, Modi took a veiled swipe at opposition parties for their unemployment criticism. He cited a recent RBI employment report indicating the creation of about eight crore new jobs in the last three-four years.

Modi stressed the urgency of skill development for youth and generating employment. He highlighted ongoing government efforts and major infrastructure projects, including roads, railways, and ports, to boost Maharashtra's growth. He also noted the enthusiastic investor response in Mumbai, promising a high-quality life through improved connectivity and upgraded railway stations.
