INS Bitra, an Indian Navy ship patrolling off Rameshwaram, coordinated with a Sri Lankan Navy vessel to receive the fishermen and the deceased at approximately 1 am.

After the transfer, INS Bitra headed to Rameshwaram, where a Naval Officer coordinated with the marine police and Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department to facilitate the transfer of the deceased and the fishermen at around 3 am.
