Sri Lankan Navy Hands Over Fishermen and Mortal Remains to Indian Navy
The Sri Lankan Navy handed over two recently apprehended fishermen and the mortal remains of another who died at sea to the Indian Navy. The transfer took place near the International Maritime Boundary Line early Saturday morning. The deceased and the fishermen were brought to Rameshwaram and coordinated with local authorities.

The Sri Lankan Navy transferred two apprehended fishermen and the mortal remains of another who perished at sea to the Indian Navy near the International Maritime Boundary Line early on Saturday, according to an official release.
INS Bitra, an Indian Navy ship patrolling off Rameshwaram, coordinated with a Sri Lankan Navy vessel to receive the fishermen and the deceased at approximately 1 am.
After the transfer, INS Bitra headed to Rameshwaram, where a Naval Officer coordinated with the marine police and Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department to facilitate the transfer of the deceased and the fishermen at around 3 am.
