Boeing's Safety Vanguard Mike Delaney to Retire

Mike Delaney, Boeing's chief aerospace safety officer with a near four-decade tenure, will retire by year's end, according to an internal memo reviewed by Reuters.

As Boeing navigates ongoing safety challenges, a successor will be named shortly, said company chief Kelly Ortberg.

Delaney, who took the role in 2021, was instrumental in advancing aviation safety strategies, crucial during the pandemic. Boeing remains under Federal Aviation Administration's tightened scrutiny following a recent incident. The Air Current was first to report the news.
