The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled a proactive plan to mitigate flooding and waterlogging issues on the country's highways this monsoon season.
As part of a 15-day initiative, NHAI officials, alongside contractors and consultants, are diligently inspecting highway stretches to spot vulnerable sites susceptible to waterlogging and potential damage during heavy rains.
The authority is also focusing on cleaning and desilting rainwater harvesting structures, repairing drains, and mobilizing emergency materials like sandbags to maintain unhindered traffic flow and connectivity across affected routes.
