Tensions Escalate as UAE Bans Sudanese Planes
The United Arab Emirates has imposed a ban on Sudanese planes from landing at its airports. This action reflects growing tensions following Sudan's diplomatic cut with the UAE, accusing it of supporting paramilitary forces. The UAE has denied the claims, while Sudan expresses surprise and seeks resolution.
The United Arab Emirates has implemented a significant aviation ban by prohibiting Sudanese planes from landing at its airports, as reported by Sudan's Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday. This move highlights the escalating tension between the two nations.
The UAE took a further stance by preventing a Sudanese airliner from taking off from Abu Dhabi airport, according to the same authority. Sudan expressed surprise at this development, stating efforts are underway to adjust travel plans for passengers affected by the decision.
Diplomatic ties between the two countries were severed by Sudan in May, amidst accusations that the UAE supplied the Rapid Support Forces with advanced weaponry during Sudan's recent civil conflict. The UAE continues to refute these allegations.
