NaBFID Fuels Infrastructure Growth with Rs 2.3 Lakh Crore Investment

The institution, founded in 2021, aims to support both development and finance in India's infrastructure sector. The National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) has made significant strides, sanctioning 232 infrastructure projects, with a cumulative loan amount reaching Rs 2,30,626 crore as of July 31, 2025. The information was disclosed in the Parliament on Monday.
Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, highlighted in a written response to the Lok Sabha that out of these, loans to 162 projects worth Rs 1,74,872 crore have been sanctioned, each with a tenure extending beyond 15 years. Established in 2021, NaBFID serves both developmental and financial purposes.
Chaudhary explained that the institution aims for coordinated infrastructure development by engaging with central and state governments, regulators, and global stakeholders. The government has also contributed Rs 20,000 crore in equity and Rs 5,000 crore as a grant to bolster these initiatives.
