Greenfield Airport Cleared for Kota-Bundi: Boost for Rajasthan's Air Connectivity

The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new greenfield airport at Kota-Bundi in Rajasthan. This ambitious project, with an estimated budget of Rs 1,507 crore, aims to bolster the region's air connectivity, enhancing economic activity and addressing the anticipated growth in air traffic.
The new airport is set to handle two million passengers annually and will stretch over 1,089 acres of land, provided free of charge by the Rajasthan government. According to Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the project will receive funding from the Airports Authority of India's internal accruals.
Kota, known for its educational and industrial prominence, will greatly benefit from this development. The airport will feature facilities like a terminal building for 1,000 Peak Hour Passengers, a runway suitable for Airbus A321, and multiple parking bays.
