Breast cancer remains the predominant cancer affecting Indian women, with projections indicating nearly 232,800 new cases by 2025. Despite advancements in medical treatments, early detection remains critical, as only about 30% of cases in India are diagnosed early compared to over 60% in developed countries, leading to late-stage diagnoses and increased mortality.
In response, the MEIL Foundation, in collaboration with the Sudha Reddy Foundation, unveiled the Pink Power Run 2.0 – Hyderabad's premier initiative to elevate awareness and advocate for early detection. Scheduled for September 28, 2025, at Necklace Road, Hyderabad, the event aims to mobilize communities nationwide in the ongoing fight against breast cancer. Esteemed attendees included Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025 and a breast cancer survivor, Krishnah Gravidez, Miss Asia 2025, and Mrs. Sudha Reddy, founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and a global ambassador for the Miss World Organization.
Mrs. Sudha Reddy emphasized the need for awareness, early detection, and treatment accessibility, underlining the event's mission to transform Hyderabad into a symbol of hope and unity in breast cancer battle. Echoing her sentiment, Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, shared her survivor's perspective, advocating for the life-saving potential of early intervention. Miss Asia 2025, Krishnah Gravidez, stressed the necessity of universal access to screening and treatment, proudly supporting the initiative as a significant step toward healthcare progress for women throughout India.
