The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has instituted heightened oversight measures on IndiGo, the largest airline in India, as the carrier continues to suffer from operational disruptions and flight cancellations. Despite stating that operations have stabilized, IndiGo has faced increased scrutiny from the aviation authority.

An oversight team from the DGCA, consisting of senior captains and government officials, along with ongoing assessments by the Directorate, will be stationed at the airline's Gurgaon headquarters. This initiative aims to supervise crew deployment, flight cancellation status, and other areas affected by shortages.

In the light of these developments, DGCA summoned IndiGo's CEO Pieter Elbers for a detailed briefing. The agency has also mandated on-site inspections across 11 domestic airports, concluding with comprehensive reports within 24 hours to assess and rectify disruptions affecting travelers nationwide.
