India stands on the brink of establishing itself as a global hub for plastic processing, opening significant growth avenues for the country's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted this opportunity during the inauguration of PLASTINDIA 2026.

Gupta urged the plastic industry to prioritize sustainable and responsible growth, stressing the importance of innovating eco-friendly manufacturing processes and achieving an ambitious target of 100% plastic waste recycling. She stressed that sustainability should be at the industry's core vision.

Addressing the growing plastic waste challenge in Delhi, Gupta called on industry stakeholders to champion recycling initiatives, embrace circular economic practices, and adopt innovative material solutions, supporting Delhi's transformation into a greener city.
