Lecturers across Maharashtra's government polytechnic colleges have faced financial hardships as their dues remain unpaid for 18 months, the lecturers' association representative stated on Wednesday.

An official from the Directorate of Technical Education argued that the issue isn't as severe as presented. Secretary Purushottam Bahetwar from the Tantraniketan Abhyagat Adhiyakhata Welfare Association revealed that around 900 visiting lecturers teaching in 45 colleges are waiting for their salaries.

Dr. Vinod Mohitkar assured that pending salaries can be managed via the college's personal ledger accounts. However, Principal KM Bakwad of Government Residential Women Polytechnic College pointed out substantial budget deficits in paying lecturers.
