Jenna Ortega, known for her role in 'Wednesday,' recently opened up about a harrowing experience involving artificial intelligence during her teenage years. The actress was exposed to morphed pornographic images of herself, prompting her to delete her social media account.
In a conversation on 'The Interview' podcast for The New York Times, the 21-year-old described the period as 'terrifying.' 'I hate A.I... Did I like being 14 and making a Twitter account because I was supposed to and seeing dirty edited content of me as a child? No. It's terrifying. It's corrupt. It's wrong,' she stated.
Ortega recounted a distressing incident at age 12 when she received a direct message on X (formerly Twitter) with an unsolicited explicit photo. The actor decided to delete her account two to three years ago due to an influx of disturbing images following the release of her show. She shared that the experience left her feeling 'disgusting and uncomfortable,' ultimately leading her to permanently quit the platform.
