India and Japan: A Historical Friendship Cementing Future Ties

A delegation from the Japan Innovation Party met with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday. Kharge emphasized that the longstanding bond of friendship between India and Japan is deeply rooted in spiritual affinity and has strong economic, cultural, and civilizational connections.
In a social media post following the meeting, Kharge expressed his delight in meeting the delegation, which included high-ranking members of Japan's Parliament and Secretary of Nippon Ishin no Kai. He referred to the strategic and global partnership shared by the two nations.
Kharge also noted that September-October 2024 has been designated as 'Japan Month,' focusing on reinforcing ties in politics, security, economics, and culture. Former Union minister Anand Sharma was also in attendance, reinforcing the significance of the engagement.
