The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) is calling on the Delhi government to initiate large-scale shopping festivals akin to those in Dubai and China, aiming to boost both trade and tourism in the national capital.
During discussions with Tourism and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, CTI highlighted the success of the Teej festival and proposed similar events for Diwali and other prominent celebrations. Additionally, fairs targeting industries such as automobiles, footwear, and home furnishings were suggested to enhance economic activity city-wide.
CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal emphasized the potential job creation and revenue benefits for the government through these events. The initiative promises opportunities for small-scale sellers and entrepreneurs by offering subsidized stalls. The minister expressed support, requesting a detailed proposal and distribution of certificates to social media influencers who backed the Teej festival.
