New Delhi, Oct 2 (PTI) — Sazerac, one of the world's largest spirits companies, has set its sights on India as a key market for expansion, driven by the country's growing appetite for premium whiskey fueled by rising disposable incomes.
The US-based company, known for brands like Buffalo Trace and Sazerac Rye, plans to introduce new products in India and capitalize on the market's shift towards premiumization, an opportunity highlighted by Diego Bianchi, Vice President, Global Hubs & Barrel Select.
Sazerac's strategy involves leveraging local partnerships and educating consumers about American Bourbon's unique taste profile as Indian tariffs on imported Bourbon decrease, despite competition from more affordable Scotch whiskey.
