Hornbill Festival Unites Cultures with Advent Spirit

The 26th edition of the Hornbill Festival has witnessed an impressive attendance, drawing 113,667 visitors in its first six days, according to the Nagaland government's official statement on Sunday. A significant portion of the attendees were domestic and local tourists, while 1,645 were foreign visitors.
Saturday saw the largest crowd with 22,786 attendees. As the festival continues to run, organizers are optimistic about higher footfall numbers. The cultural event showcases Nagaland's 18 tribes and has become a platform for cultural exchange and unity among Nagas.
Aside from the vibrant cultural exhibitions, Sunday included Advent Christmas celebrations. Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang called for unity, citing divisive issues that could lead to instability. His message was echoed by Rev. Moses Murry of the NJCF, underlining the importance of community and togetherness.
