Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called upon industry leaders to incorporate the national song 'Vande Mataram' into their events. Speaking at an agri-business summit hosted by PHDCCI, Chouhan emphasized the song's importance in rallying emotions towards the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated parliamentary discussions to mark the song's 150th anniversary, sparking debate across both houses. Chouhan noted that agriculture remains vital to India's economy, with the government implementing measures to enhance farmer returns despite rising costs.
Key challenges identified include the issue of spurious seeds and pesticides, along with pricing disparities. The ministry is revising laws for quality input assurance and will host a session to tackle farmer concerns in December.
