Omar Abdullah Unveils Aggressive Strategy to Boost J&K Tourism
Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has directed the Tourism Department to focus their promotional efforts on airports with high tourist traffic to boost the region's tourism. He emphasized crafting an annual event calendar, improving presentation quality, and incorporating Virtual Reality at travel fairs.

Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has directed the Tourism Department to identify and focus on the top 10 airports in the country that record the highest tourist traffic. He emphasized targeting these hubs for publicity to draw more holidaymakers to the region.
During a recent meeting reviewing the Tourism Department's promotional activities, Abdullah stressed the importance of crafting an advanced annual event calendar to improve planning and execution. He urged the department to direct its advertising strategies towards airports in major tourist cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, and Goa, while underscoring the need for high-quality presentations at national and international travel marts.
Moreover, Abdullah advocated for the incorporation of Virtual Reality technology to provide immersive walkthroughs at travel mart stalls. He also proposed promoting events such as the Kashmir Marathon, recommending themed runs and engaging title sponsors to enhance participation.
