Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, on Thursday, underscored the significance of preserving linguistic and cultural heritage in the state. Reiterating the government's focus on education and community development, he inaugurated a 60-bed hostel at Pali Vidyapeeth in Chongkham, Namsai district.
Mein emphasized strengthening the teaching of the Pali language and local scripts, particularly the Tai Khamti script, urging its inclusion in the academic curriculum. Additionally, he announced plans for digitizing and restoring rare manuscripts in the institution's museum, recognizing their cultural and historical value.
Mein called for the support of local administration and community leaders for Pali Vidyapeeth's growth. Praising the institution's role in promoting education and cultural harmony, he pledged ongoing support through grants and infrastructure expansion, acknowledging the historical efforts of past leaders and the community.
