Russia's air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed eight drones launched by Ukraine near the town of Tuapse on the Black Sea, where the oil major Rosneft operates a refinery, according to a local official on Monday.
Sergei Boiko, head of the Tuapse district in the Krasnodar region, confirmed via the Telegram messaging app that as of 5 a.m. (0200 GMT), there was no damage to infrastructure or residential buildings, and no casualties were reported.
Local Russian news channels SHOT and Mash also reported a series of blasts near the refinery in the early hours of Monday.
