Madhya Pradesh police have registered a case against 22 named individuals and several unidentified persons for allegedly pelting stones at a police and district administration team in Guna district, an official said on Wednesday. The incident took place in the Vishnupura area, under the Fatehgarh police station's jurisdiction, on Tuesday. The individuals were charged under sections related to riots, obstructing government work, and vandalising vehicles, according to the police.

Inspector General of Police (IG, Gwalior Zone) Arvind Saxena informed ANI, 'A dispute between two groups erupted in Guna district on July 22, leading to a complaint from one party against the other. Based on this complaint, a case was registered against the second party, resulting in arrests and their subsequent imprisonment.' On Tuesday, July 23, supporters of the complainant's party demanded the removal of encroachments made by the accused party, who were already in jail. IG Saxena noted that the demand was deemed rational, prompting authorities to identify and dismantle two encroaching shops.

However, when some villagers and anti-social elements demanded the dismantling of the accused party's legal house, officials, supported by documentation, refused. Following this refusal, anti-social elements began attacking the police and district administration team with stones, damaging a Nagar Palika vehicle and injuring some police personnel. The police have identified 22 individuals involved and filed cases against them and several unidentified persons. 'No one will be spared. Strict actions will be taken against all who misused the situation,' Saxena added.
