On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its fourth list of candidates for the forthcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, featuring Sudhir Laxmanrao Parwe and Narendra Lalchandji Mehta. Parwe will contest the Umred reserved seat while Mehta will vie for Mira Bhayandar.
In a parallel move, Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also unveiled its fourth list, naming Devendra Bhuyar for the Morshi constituency in Solapur district and Shankar Mandekar for Bhor in Pune. Today marks the final day for filing nominations with the state set to vote on November 20, followed by a count on November 23.
The Congress followed suit on Monday by declaring six candidates across Maharashtra and Jharkhand, listing Madhurimaraje Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Sajid Khan Mannan Khan, Heera Devasi, and Chetan Narote in Maharashtra. The party, part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, has now confirmed 102 candidates out of the 288 Assembly seats, further intensifying the political rivalry.
