Agriculture in the country is poised for a boost, with growth expected to hit 3.5-4% in 2024-25, according to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This marks a notable rise from the modest 1.4% recorded in the previous fiscal year.
In a New Year message shared on X, Minister Chouhan lauded India's developmental progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting recent rural welfare initiatives. He emphasized the government's efforts in ensuring fair pricing for farmers and shedding light on key programs such as MNREGA and housing projects for the poor.
Further, initiatives aimed at enhancing rural livelihoods, like village road connectivity, skill development, and the innovative Lakhpati Didi campaign, were also spotlighted as integral parts of the rural revitalization strategy.
