India Launches Operation Sindoor: Mock Drills and Military Action Against Terror Sites

India has unfolded two major initiatives: a nationwide mock drill in cities like Ayodhya and direct military action targeting terror camps in Pakistan. While the drill assessed emergency response capabilities, Operation Sindoor aimed to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, marking India's largest incursion into Pakistani territory since 1971.

In a sweeping exercise on Wednesday, Ayodhya witnessed a comprehensive mock drill, marking part of a nationwide campaign to assess emergency preparedness. The Ayodhya District Magistrate, Nikhil Tikaram Funde, confirmed that drills were conducted at pivotal district locations, including the Ayodhya Airport and the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

Nikhil Tikaram Funde elaborated, saying, "We are conducting mock drills at four locations today - the airport, inside Ram Janmabhoomi temple, and two main neighbourhoods." The drills unfolded across major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, assessing local response mechanisms to potential security threats.

This initiative follows directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, urging states and territories to bolster their defenses against evolving threats. Simultaneously, India launched 'Operation Sindoor,' a military offensive targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, as a response to a recent deadly attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir.

Hours after the offensive, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, alongside Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, held a briefing to detail the operation's success. Vyomika Singh confirmed that nine terrorist sites were neutralized with precision targeting to avoid civilian casualties, addressing the grievous Pahalgam attack and delivering justice to the victims and their families.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi presented compelling evidence of the operation's impact, showing videos of destroyed terror infrastructures that historically harbored terrorists responsible for significant attacks on Indian soil. The operation signifies a momentous military stride by New Delhi, marking its most profound strike into Pakistani territory in five decades, reaffirming its unyielding stance against terrorism.
