In a strategic move that showcased India's military prowess, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh announced the commendable role played by both indigenous and foreign-origin weapons in Operation Sindoor. This operation, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan, spotlighted the BrahMos missile's critical impact, branding it a 'game-changer' under the defense secretary's assessment.

He further elaborated on the successful integration of various weapon systems, noting the stellar performance of Indian-origin armaments including the BrahMos and Akash missiles. The Indian Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional preparedness and confidence, particularly in leveraging precision standoff weapons, making significant strides in modernizing and upgrading older air defense systems.

Singh also highlighted the progressive steps taken in defence modernization, citing a 7% annual growth in defence budgets and emphasizing the importance of efficient resource utilization. The 'Make in India' initiative has spurred record-setting defence production, bolstering the country's industrial capabilities with substantial contributions from DPSUs and MSMEs.
