Russia's state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, is in talks with India to explore the possibility of localising the production of nuclear fuel for power plants, according to reports by the RIA news agency.
A substantial expansion of their collaborative efforts was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This agreement includes plans for constructing new nuclear power plants in India and intensifying cooperation on small-capacity nuclear facilities, RIA stated.
These developments underscore a strengthening energy partnership between Russia and India, aimed at bolstering nuclear power infrastructure and advancing shared energy goals. Such initiatives reflect the growing focus on sustainable energy solutions through international cooperation.
