Madhya Pradesh Declared Naxal-Free: A Historic Milestone

Madhya Pradesh has been declared free from Naxal violence, marking a significant achievement in the state’s history. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav credited the leadership of PM Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah, alongside the courage of police forces, for ending the insurgency, with provisions to integrate surrendered Naxalites.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state has achieved the status of being Naxal-free, a development he coined a 'golden chapter' in the state's history. The declaration follows the surrender of the final two Naxals, Deepak Uike and Rohit, in Balaghat district.

Attributing this success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and Union Home Minister Amit Shah's guidance, CM Yadav lauded their commitment to eradicate Naxalism by January 2026. Yadav highlighted that 42 Naxalites with bounties totaling Rs 7.75 crore surrendered within 42 days in the MMC Zone.

The surrender of the final two insurgents on December 11 signals the dismantling of active Naxalite cadres across the state. CM Yadav paid tribute to the 38 officers who lost their lives in the campaign and emphasized the state's commitment to rehabilitate surrendered Naxalites under its Surrender Policy.
