Maharashtra Opens Offline Registration for Farmers Missing E-Crop Survey
Farmers in Maharashtra can now register offline for the e-crop survey until January 15, following technical issues with the online portal. In a significant move to aid local farmers, Maharashtra's administration has opened an offline registration process for farmers who missed the e-crop survey registration. This decision was announced by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday.
Speaking in the legislative assembly, Bawankule highlighted the importance of this initiative. Due to technical constraints, the online portal could not be reopened, prompting the government to establish an offline system. This initiative aims to ensure that genuine farmers are not subjected to financial losses as they continue to sell their produce at government procurement centers.
The decision comes after concerns raised by MLA Vikram Pachpute about farmers missing registration deadlines and its consequences. A designated committee will be formed to review applications, conduct necessary inspections, and prevent exploitation by traders.
