A conflict within the transgender community in Suriyawan has surfaced, as some individuals claim they are being coerced into converting to Islam by their leaders. The police are now investigating these alarming allegations.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shubham Agrawal revealed that approximately twelve transgenders approached the Suriyawan Police Station, accusing their guru, Manju Haji, and others of exerting undue pressure on them to embrace Islam. The dispute reportedly began over territorial rights to alms.
The authorities stress that forcible religious conversion is a grave offense, promising that a case will be registered and legal action taken if the investigations by Circle Officer Ashok Kumar Mishra substantiate these claims.
