India-Bangladesh Border Conference Strengthens Security Ties

The Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have reinforced their dedication to maintaining peace along their shared border. The 57th Director General-level conference, held in New Delhi from June 8 to June 11, focused on curbing cross-border crimes like smuggling and human trafficking.
The meeting, led by BSF Director General Praveen Kumar and BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, aimed at improving patrols, vigilance, and real-time information exchange. Enhanced public awareness regarding the border's sanctity was also a priority to thwart illegal activities.
The two forces expressed a zero-tolerance stance against cross-border crimes, reaffirming their commitment to safe borders. The successful conference concluded with the signing of a Joint Record on June 11, paving the way for stronger bilateral cooperation, with the next conference scheduled for 2026 in Dhaka.
