Tragedy Strikes: GST Officer's Plunge Amid Battle with Illness

On Monday, a GST deputy commissioner allegedly ended his life by jumping from the 15th floor of his apartment in Noida Sector 75. His family cited his battle with depression, exacerbated by cancer, as a contributing factor, according to police reports.
The incident occurred at Apex Athena Society when Sanjay Singh, an employee of the GST Department in Ghaziabad, took the fatal step at approximately 11 a.m. KG Sharma, Incharge of Sector 113 police station, confirmed the event, indicating that Singh had been suffering from prostate cancer for five years and was in its final stages.
Colleagues, including MP Singh, GST Additional Commissioner in Ghaziabad, revealed that Sanjay was managing legal cases in India's Supreme Court while stationed at the GST office in Rajendra Nagar. Survived by his wife and two sons, the elder working in Gurugram and the younger studying in Greater Noida, Sanjay's body has been sent for postmortem examination.
