Jammu's Dengue Dilemma: Rising Cases and Municipal Response

In recent weeks, Jammu has become a hotspot for rising dengue cases, with the region reporting the highest concentration in surrounding areas, officials noted.

This year, the Jammu region has reported over 1,100 cases, slightly fewer than last year's numbers, according to health officials. The persistent rainfall and resulting waterlogging are blamed for creating ideal conditions for mosquito breeding.

In response, the Jammu Municipal Corporation has ramped up citywide thermal fogging and spraying operations, targeting mosquito-breeding habitats. Commissioner Devansh Yadav emphasized the importance of sustained efforts to safeguard public health, urging residents to maintain clean environments and employ preventive measures.
