The Baloch National Movement chapters from the Netherlands and the US organized a widespread awareness campaign on Thursday across multiple cities including Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, and Eindhoven. The campaign aims to educate people about Balochistan's history and its ongoing fight for independence from Pakistan.
The BNM highlighted August 11 as a significant date when Balochistan declared itself an independent nation from British rule, separate from Pakistan. During the events, pamphlets were distributed detailing Balochistan's struggle since Pakistan's forced occupation in March 1948.
According to the BNM, Pakistan has since committed various atrocities against the Baloch community, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other severe human rights violations. The pamphlets call for global citizens to speak out against the Pakistani occupation and the genocide occurring in Balochistan.
The BNM believes that international solidarity will inspire the people of Balochistan and contribute to global justice and human rights protection. Earlier, the UK chapter of BNM held a rally in London to condemn Pakistani security forces’ atrocities during the Baloch National Gathering in regions such as Gwadar, Mastung, and Nushki.
Hundreds participated in the protest, including the local diaspora from Baloch and Sindh communities abroad. The protest condemned the actions of Pakistani security forces, which led to deaths, injuries, and widespread suffering among protesters.
The BNM called for an end to ongoing enforced disappearances and road blockades aimed at stifling resistance in Gwadar. They urged the international community to take action against human rights abuses in Balochistan. Rally organizers condemned the intolerable atrocities by Pakistani forces against innocent and peaceful protesters.
