Amid reports of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's imminent visit to Moscow, Foreign Affairs Expert Robinder Sachdev has highlighted the visit's multifaceted objectives, including Doval's attendance at the BRICS NSA meeting. Sachdev indicated that Doval will carry a message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia's National Security Advisor and President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking on the visit, Sachdev noted, 'NSA Doval's trip to Moscow serves multiple purposes. Participation in the BRICS NSA meetings is a primary goal, but he also carries important messages from PM Modi to Russian officials.' Sachdev also alluded to a potential meeting between NSA Doval and his Chinese counterpart, possibly setting the stage for bilateral talks between Modi and Xi Jinping in October during the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Sources confirm Doval's attendance at the BRICS NSA meeting in Moscow from September 10-12. Russia holds the BRICS chairmanship for 2024, and the group has recently expanded to include Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia. The visit comes on the heels of PM Modi's diplomatic efforts with Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing India's role as a mediator aiming for peaceful resolution.
