During the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, diplomatic partners Paraguay, the Marshall Islands, and Palau expressed robust support for Taiwan's inclusion in the United Nations. According to Focus Taiwan, the Central News Agency highlighted the leaders' call for Taiwan's UN membership.
Paraguayan President Santiago Pena reiterated his country's commitment to universal inclusion, emphasizing that Taiwan's membership is essential for a fair representation in international forums. He underscored the bond between Paraguay and Taiwan, rooted in democracy, the rule of law, and free trade, and condemned Taiwan's exclusion as an 'injustice'.
Similarly, Palau's Vice President Uduch Sengebau Sr and Marshall Islands President Hilda Heine reinforced their support, highlighting that Taiwan's exclusion compromises the UN's principles of inclusivity and cooperation. They argued against the misuse of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, stressing it should not prevent Taiwan's meaningful participation in global affairs.
