In Jerusalem, a significant diplomatic exchange took place on March 10, as Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar engaged in critical discussions with Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon. The meeting focused on regional security implications arising from Iran's financial backing to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Sa'ar highlighted his concerns, indicating that Iran is illicitly channeling funds to bolster Hezbollah's capabilities. This support, he warned, threatens stability not only in Lebanon but across the Middle East, emphasizing the need for international vigilance.

Despite the challenges, Sa'ar expressed optimism, asserting that Lebanon has a unique opportunity to extricate itself from what he termed Iranian occupation. His remarks signal Israel's strategic interest in Lebanon's sovereignty and regional emancipation from external influences.
