India Backs Nepal's New Gen Z-Driven Government

In a move signifying continued regional solidarity, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India reaffirmed its unwavering support for Nepal following the inauguration of its interim government under Prime Minister Sushila Karki. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal declared India's readiness to collaborate closely for the prosperity of both nations during a press briefing on Friday.
Addressing media inquiries about the newly-established government in Nepal, Jaiswal stated, "We welcomed Nepal's new interim government and have constantly reaffirmed our steadfast support. Our commitment extends to establishing peace and stability as a fellow democracy and neighbor." Earlier, Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Sushila Karki engaged in a telephonic exchange where Modi expressed condolences for lives lost during Nepalese protests and reiterated India's pledge to fortify bilateral ties.
Nepal's interim leader Karki expressed gratitude for India's unwavering support, reciprocating the sentiment to enhance ties. MEA confirmed that leaders exchanged greetings, with Karki emphasizing upcoming elections and prioritizing governance in response to the Gen Z movement demanding accountability. Jaiswal affirmed India's commitment to aiding Nepal's progress and stability.
