Nepal-India Diplomacy: A New Epoch of Cooperation
Nepal's Foreign Minister, Shisir Khanal, announced a transformative era in Nepal-India relations, focusing on economic and diplomatic renewal. Praising India's supportive role amid recent crises, Khanal emphasized mutual cultural bonds and a modern partnership vision. India pledged continued cooperation, exploring new domains like startups and AI.
Nepal's Foreign Minister, Shisir Khanal, signaled a shift in Nepal-India relations, emphasizing a fresh, result-driven diplomatic approach under Prime Minister Balen Shah. Speaking alongside India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, Khanal highlighted the shared ancient civilization that underpins the strong bilateral ties.
Khanal stressed that the new Nepalese government, with a mandate for reform and development, seeks to fortify its relationship with India, focusing on modern partnerships and mutual opportunities. He acknowledged India's crucial assistance during crises, including the uninterrupted supply of essential resources amid the ongoing West Asia situation.
Khanal expressed gratitude for past collaborations and anticipates productive discussions to pave the way for future high-level engagements. In response, Jaishankar reaffirmed India's commitment to fostering ties, highlighting shared goals across diverse sectors such as trade, renewable energy, and technological innovation.
