Israel Resists U.S.-Iran Deal: No Withdrawal Amid Escalating Tensions
Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz firmly opposes Washington's new diplomatic pact with Tehran, stating that the IDF will maintain its positions in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Israel's sovereignty and independence in policy, as President Trump's Iran deal sparks controversy.
In a significant escalation of geopolitical tension following a U.S.-Iran deal, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has clearly stated that Israel will not withdraw its military from positions in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza. This move comes as a sharp rebuttal to the diplomatic framework announced by Washington, asserting Israel's firm stance against the accord.
Defence Minister Katz has reportedly communicated Israel's refusal to adhere to international withdrawal timelines directly to U.S. President Donald Trump. He reinforced this position with a stern warning to Tehran, highlighting that any aggression from Iran over Lebanon will be met with a strong Israeli response, as per Israeli media reports.
Meanwhile, Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized the diplomatic efforts by Washington, insisting on Israel's complete geopolitical sovereignty. He took to social media platform X to emphasize that the U.S.-led initiatives do not bind Israel, and any attack from Lebanon will result in decisive strikes on proxy strongholds.
