Rajasthan Police Officials Arrested for Bribery Scheme

Two police officers in Rajasthan's Kotputli-Behror district were arrested for allegedly demanding an iPhone and Rs 15,000 in bribes from a complainant. The SHO and constable were caught red-handed in a sting operation by the Anti Corruption Bureau. An investigation is currently underway.

Two police officers in Rajasthan's Kotputli-Behror district were apprehended on bribery charges this Saturday, officials reported.

According to Director General of the Anti Corruption Bureau, Ravi Prakash Mehrda, Behror Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar, along with a sub-inspector and constable Ajeet Singh, were caught demanding an iPhone and Rs 15,000 in cash from a complainant to leave him out of an ongoing case.

A sting operation was carried out after verifying the complaint, leading to the arrest of both officials while they accepted the bribe. Both officers have been detained under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and a detailed investigation is in progress.
