Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has dismissed allegations of a scam in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) as a 'non-issue'. The opposition BJP and JD(S) had called for a discussion on the alleged fraudulent land allotment to MUDA, including to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi.
In response, Siddaramaiah accused the opposition of making a personal attack to tarnish his image. He asserted that no illegalities had occurred, and everything was conducted as per the law. 'Your objective is to tarnish my image,' the Chief Minister said, condemning the accusations as baseless.
Siddaramaiah clarified that the alternative sites were allotted in 2021 when the BJP was in power and that MUDA had allotted plots to Parvathi under a 50:50 ratio scheme, in place of undeveloped land they had acquired. He also mentioned that the MUDA had taken his wife's land and developed it without permission.
