A newly-wed bride allegedly drugged her in-laws and ran away from their house in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, according to police reports on Friday.
The alarming incident took place in Dharghadi village on Thursday night. Manjubai, 24, reportedly mixed an unknown substance into the meal she prepared for her in-laws. After consuming the food, the family members, including a six-year-old child, lost consciousness, police sources revealed.
Relatives discovered the unconscious family and rushed them to the district hospital, where they are now receiving treatment and are said to be out of danger. Dablana Assistant Sub-inspector Mahendra Yadav stated that the marriage, which occurred on August 23 under the 'Nata-Pratha' custom, has no legal sanctity.
