Three Arrested for Insulting National Flag with Islamic Symbols During Barawafat Procession

Three individuals have been arrested for allegedly defaming the national flag by incorporating Islamic symbols during a Barawafat procession, officials reported on Tuesday.
The police identified two minors involved in the incident and plan to detain them. A video circulating on social media showed a person waving a modified national flag with a crescent and star on either side of the Ashoka Chakra, prompting protests led by BJP MLA Sandeep Sharma and Hindu groups outside Anantpura Police Station.
Kota City Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan confirmed the arrests of Ashfaq (50), and Aman Ali, 20, along with another individual named Aman, 19. The suspects face charges under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigations are underway.
