Among the countries, the United Arab Emirates has the highest number of Indian citizens on death row, totaling 29, followed by 12 in Saudi Arabia. The government is reportedly extending support and exploring legal avenues to aid these individuals, including action in Nimisha Priya's case in Yemen.

Minister Singh emphasized the commitment of Indian Missions abroad to provide assistance, ensuring consular access, and legal aid for citizens in distress. Currently, there are an estimated 10,152 Indian nationals imprisoned globally, including 2,684 under-trials, highlighting the scale of overseas detentions.
