Revamping Tribal Prosperity: A 231-Fold Budget Boost for India's Indigenous Communities

The Union Budget has ushered in a significant boost for tribal welfare, with allocations skyrocketing to Rs 14,925 crore, marking a 231-fold increase since 2014. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram underscored the transformative potential of these funds in paving the way for self-reliant and developed India.
Addressing a media gathering, Oram detailed the strategic utilization of this allocation. The Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana has been integrated into the Dharti Aabha Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, extending over five years with an Rs 80,000 crore budget aimed at addressing infrastructure gaps in education, health, and employment.
This initiative is set to revolutionize the living conditions in 63,843 villages, with coordinated efforts from 17 ministries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision encapsulated in this budget aims not only at developing tribal areas but also at positioning them as integral contributors to India's growth.
