Kerala Welcomes New Police Chief: Ravada A Chandrasekhar

The Kerala government has appointed senior IPS officer Ravada A Chandrasekhar as the new state police chief, replacing Sheikh Darvesh Saheb. Chandrasekhar was selected from a UPSC-empaneled shortlist presented at a special cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He is currently on central deputation and a 1991-batch IPS officer.

The announcement follows the retirement of Sheikh Darvesh Saheb. Chandrasekhar, a 1991-batch IPS officer, was chosen from a selection curated by the UPSC's empanelment committee.

Currently on central deputation, Chandrasekhar will soon assume his new responsibilities, bringing a wealth of experience to his role as the head of police in Kerala.
