In a shocking corruption scandal, an assistant professor from Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat, Pavan Kumar Gaudar, has been arrested for allegedly accepting bribes related to the purchase of 30 plastic buckets at inflated prices, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The investigation reveals that Gaudar conspired with local vendor Anand Kumar Dwivedi to exploit the College of Agriculture, Pasighat, through corrupted procurement practices. The dubious dealings involved awarding contracts at exaggerated prices and releasing payments in exchange for bribes.
The inflated pricing scandal came to light when the 30 Milton-branded plastic buckets, priced at Rs 36,000 in the market, were billed at Rs 75,000. Following a raid by the CBI, Gaudar and Dwivedi were detained, uncovering additional alleged payments made by Dwivedi for preferential procurement treatment.
