A police constable in Chhattisgarh's Durg district allegedly took his own life by hanging at his residence, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Constable Surendra Sahu was discovered hanging from the ceiling by his wife at their official residence in the Police Lines area of the Padmnabhpur police station when she returned from an outing. Neighbors were alerted to the incident.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the reasons behind the suicide since no note was left behind. This incident adds to the 177 security personnel who have committed suicide in the state over six-and-a-half years due to various underlying issues.
