The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fiercely criticized the Congress on Saturday for its opposition to the National Council of Educational Research and Training's (NCERT) release of a special module on the Partition of India. The BJP claimed the Congress's displeasure stems from the 'truth' being exposed.

Gaurav Bhatia, BJP national spokesperson, called Congress the 'Rahul-Jinnah party,' asserting Rahul Gandhi's ideological alignment with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. The Congress accused the BJP of meddling in institutional affairs and altering historical narratives by attributing responsibility for the Partition to Jinnah, the Congress, and Viceroy Lord Mountbatten.

Congress leader Pawan Khera rebutted, attributing the Partition to the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League and labelled the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a major historical villain. In response, Bhatia emphasized the necessity of teaching students about the 'bitter truth' of India's Partition, asserting it revealed Congress's prioritization of ambition over national interest.
