Global Security at Stake: The New World Order Challenge
The SVR's Sergei Naryshkin warns of unprecedented international security fragility, likening it to World War Two. He highlights a 'fierce struggle' among global power centers and urges peaceful adaptation to the new world order. Meanwhile, Russia criticizes Zelenskiy's administration for hindering peace in Ukraine.
The head of Russia's SVR intelligence service, Sergei Naryshkin, has declared that global security is currently as fragile as it has been since World War Two. Speaking to the RIA agency, he emphasized the urgent need for compromise to prevent a new worldwide conflict.
Naryshkin pointed out a 'fierce struggle' among major global and regional power centers aiming to establish future world order rules. This period, he says, is a 'qualitative transformation' in the global order.
He further stressed the importance of adapting to this new reality without escalating into a major war, a pattern seen in historical transitions. Meanwhile, Naryshkin criticized the Ukrainian administration under President Volodymyr Zelenskiy for obstructing peace efforts amid the ongoing conflict initiated by Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.
